Senior Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing
Applications are now being accepted for a Senior Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing position for University Housing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Senior Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing is responsible for directing and implementing the overall communications and marketing strategies and promotional activities for University Housing’s varied audiences including students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests served by University Housing. The Senior Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing serves as an advisor to the Director of University Housing and is a member of the Housing Executive Team. The Senior Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing provides public relations support in all aspects of the University Housing operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A Master’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, or related field required, with at least seven (7) years professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related position. Demonstrated experience in working with print media, multi-media, web development and knowledge of pertinent computer systems. Experience creating and managing financial budgets. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead teams to achieve planned goals. A minimum of three year’s professional supervisory experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience in building a professional brand/image for a company or department. Demonstrated interpersonal skills working with a diverse group of people.
Experience managing communication in a critical or crisis situation. Experience in a college or university marketing communications environment. Experience working in a larger department and strong marketing research skills.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. The starting date will be as soon as possible after the closing date. Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package.
