ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

McKinley Health Center, a fully accredited college health center at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, is seeking an Assistant Director for Clinical Support Services. This individual will provide leadership and administrative support through planning, organizing and directing the operations of the clinical units. The Assistant Director will work in close collaboration with physician leadership carrying out operational responsibilities to assure high quality service delivery. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the clinical units, they will be responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the budget, developing policies and procedures, personnel recruitment, management and staff development and training. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director and other Assistant Directors in the development of the Health Center’s mission, goals and strategic plan. This individual will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and will report to the Director of McKinley Health Center.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a medical or business related field. A Master’s degree is required in one of the areas of clinical support, or in a relevant area of administration, or be certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Three years of supervisory experience in either an ambulatory health care setting or in one of the areas of clinical responsibility is required. Knowledge of management principles and practices including budgeting, planning, staffing, evaluating and operating programs. Knowledge of general principles of health care.
This is a 12 month, 100% Academic Professional position. Salary is competitive and includes a very attractive, comprehensive University benefits package including a state retirement benefit plan.
