DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The LAS-Global Studies Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking a full-time Lecturer to contribute to: 1) the development and teaching of interdisciplinary core courses for the undergraduate program in Global Studies, 2) the advising and mentoring of Global Studies majors, and 3) general program development and support. Candidates should be able to teach an interdisciplinary introductory Global Studies course, social-science based research methods, and courses in his or her area of specialization.
PhD degree required by the start date. Degree should be in International or Global Studies, Geography, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, or related Social Science, with a focus on Development Studies, Human Rights, Global Health, Culture and Communication or Environment and Sustainability. Preferred areas of expertise: Development Studies, Human Rights, and/or Culture and Communication. Preferred experience: relevant teaching in traditional and non-traditional environments (e.g., online, blended, field), interdisciplinary teaching/research experience or interests, academic advising, and/or international education program development.
SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a full-time, non-tenure track position appointed on a 10-month service basis, renewable yearly based on funding and strong performance reviews. The expected start date is August 16, 2017.
