The Department of Speech and Hearing Science (http://shs.illinois.edu) invites applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure, specialized faculty position as Director of Clinical Education, at the Clinical Assistant/Clinical Associate Professor rank. The Director of Clinical Education will oversee and advance clinical education for both the Doctor of Audiology and Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology Programs and management of the Department Clinics.
The Department of Speech and Hearing Science is widely recognized as among the top departments in the nation, conducts cutting-edge research across the entire spectrum of human communication, has excellent academic programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctorate levels, and offers graduate clinical programs in speech-language pathology and audiology that are fully accredited. The Department of Speech and Hearing Science resides within the College of Applied Health Sciences (http://ahs.illinois.edu).
The position is available August 16, 2017.
Applicants must hold a terminal degree for clinical practice in either Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology and be eligible for Illinois state licensure and ASHA certification. Ideal candidates have previous experience directing clinical services. The search committee encourages applications of persons from underrepresented groups.
Serve as Director of the Speech-Language and Audiology Clinics with responsibility for management and development of clinical operations including over sight of budget and service reimbursement, and supervision of clinical instructors/staff. The Director will support graduate student clinical education and translational research efforts by the faculty. The successful candidate may also contribute to didactic instruction in the department.
