Director of the Psychological Services Center - Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks a full-time Director of the Psychological Services Center to support the goals of department and the Clinical-Community Division as reflected in the following aspects of the PSC mission: A delivery of evidence based training to doctoral students in the Clinical-Community program in the Department of Psychology. B. Provision of innovative, evidence-based services (therapy, evaluations, education, advocacy and mentoring) to the public (focusing primarily on Champaign County and the surrounding community). C. Provision of culturally competent training to graduate trainees and culturally competent services to a diverse clientele. D. Engagement in strength-based collaborations with community-based agencies, organizations, and leaders. E. Production and support of cutting edge scholarship on mental health issues, clinical and community interventions, and campus-community collaborations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the PSC, including communication with other local agencies, supervision of graduate students, PSC assistants, and the PSC office manager, and collaboration with other professional staff (typically including, but not necessarily limited to, an outreach and public engagement coordinator).
Participate in research and program development, grant writing, and teaching at the graduate level (e.g., student supervision, seminar and/or practicum teaching, membership on dissertation committees) and community outreach and public engagement.
Work with faculty in the Clinical-Community program to support the development of the PSC into a well-funded, nationally recognized center, where research and practice is seamlessly integrated and where community psychology is integrated with clinical psychology in innovative ways that influence public policy, serve as models for intervention, and provide unique research and training opportunities for students.
Fully integrated into the intellectual life of the Clinical-Community program - teach courses, serve on dissertation committees, attend faculty meetings and retreats, and attend weekly program-wide research symposia.
The position can be roughly divided into four overlapping roles: (1) PSC Administration; (2) Community and Campus Engagement; (3) Training and Supervision; and (4) Scholarship and External Funding.
