Office Support Assistant (Contract) - Three Vacancies

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking dynamic professionals to join a partnership between the School of School of Social Work and Office of Workforce Development.

 

The Office Support Assistant will serve as the liaison between the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and its stakeholders. Individuals will effectively handle issues, complaints and inquiries keeping satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide customer service support, examples (not all inclusive) include handling and responding to customer inquiries by telephone and email, monitoring, maintaining and updating confidential information, data entry and technical support. Provide logistical support, examples (not all inclusive) include identifying meeting space, catering and lodging arrangements, preparation and distribution of printed materials and assisting with set up and take down at events, as specified by the supervisor.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required. Perform clerical support; examples (not all inclusive) include receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls. Proctor exams as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

 

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling six (6) months of experience in the categories   below:

(a) work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems
(b) college or university course work in any curriculum

  • Twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months

Experience in customer service or a call center is preferred.

 

This is a full-time (100%), twelve-month Civil Service Office Support Assistant position located in Springfield, IL. The position is grant-funded and renewal is contingent upon availability of funds. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.
