Non-Tenure-Track (Open Rank) Specialized Faculty

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Department of Dance seeks applicants to fill one or more part-time, non-tenure track Specialized Faculty positions at the rank of Instructor or Lecturer with expertise in the following areas:

  • Creative Dance for Children, which entails teaching a pedagogy class for undergraduate dance majors and overseeing a Saturday Children’s program.  
  • Other Dance specialties, depending on Department needs, including but not limited to teaching online classes and introductory dance courses to non-majors.

Additional duties in the area of service may be requested as circumstances warrant. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Adjunct Instructor/Instructor: Bachelor's degree in Dance or a related field. 
  • Adjunct Lecturer/Lecturer: Terminal degree in Dance or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of combined teaching and professional experience in a field relevant to the course(s) being taught.  Merit-based exceptions to this qualification will be considered.

 

Proposed start date: August 16, 2019 or January 1, 2020

 

Salary: commensurate with rank and experience.
